Nathan was just 17 when this country album was recorded... In an interview on youtube, he explains that he wanted to do an album of classic country songs in order to introduce himself to the country music audience, and that he also wanted to make it a selection of duets.

As it mainly falls outside of my area of interest, I've only recently picked up a copy of this CD. Ralph is featured on The Darkest Hour Is Just Before Dawn, and there's a plethora of guest contributors including Ralph II, Larry Sparks, Ricky Skaggs...

Fellow CMB Dewey Brown also plays fiddle on the album.

The CD is housed in quite a full colour four-fold digi-pack, with liner notes by Ben 'Cooter' Jones, plus brief endorsements by Ricky Skaggs, Larry Sparks, Stella Parton and Gene Watson. The artwork also includes photo's of Nathan with some of the co-performers, including a couple with Dr. Ralph.

Two promo videos were also included on youtube. The one for Long Black Veil has been removed, but the one for Folsom Prison Blues is still online... Look out for the cameo from Ralph II.
