(Jessup MB-137) Aug 1973
As far as I can tell this instrumental fiddle album was recorded at the same Feb 1973 session as the Tribute To The Lonesome Pine Fiddlers LP in Jackson, Michigan.
Ralph "Joe" Meadows, had played with The Goins Brothers around 1950/51, before Ray Goins (& then Melvin) had joined the Lonesome Pine Fiddlers. In 1953/4 he became a CMB and played on four of the Stanley Brothers seminal Mercury sessions between 30th May 1954 and 5th April 1955, including their version of Orange Blossom Special - the earliest to include 'bluegrass'-style 3-finger banjo.
The 'Rejoined Bluegrass...' album highlights Joe's accomplished bluegrass fiddling with a variety of hymn-tunes, rags, waltzes and breakdowns. Backing by the Goins Brothers compliments the fiddle playing nicely and there's occasional dobro & banjo breaks on some of the numbers.
