Please rate this album:

This album was recorded at the Winterhawk Bluegrass Festival, 18th - 20th July 1986. As the name suggests it was released in order to raise funds for bluegrass music scholarships.

Ralph and the gang are featured playing Cotton-Eyed Joe. It appears to be the last recording to have been released featuring Charlie Sizemore on lead vocal, as he left the CMB's at the Milan, Mi. festival the following month. It's somewhat ironic that Charlie's last recording as a CMB was on an LP to raise money for scholarships, when he was leaving the band to become a student.

The album is a reasonable live effort, but it is very long - one side is too long for my turntable so I can't play the last track on one side completely...

  • Ralph Stanley: banjo, vocals
  • Jnr Blankenship: lead guitar
  • Curly Ray Cline: fiddle
  • Jack Cooke: bass
  • Charlie Sizemore: guitar, vocals
