The Stanley Brothers - In Person Vol. 1

(King EP-467) c1961

EP Front Sleeve
Rear Cover Side One Side Two

This four track 7" EP was one of three which included tracks from the Stanley's In Person LP.

I think the version of Daybreak In Dixie is the one without the overdubbed guitars, although to be honest, I find it difficult to distinguish between the two, so I could be wrong!

The EP comes housed in a card cover, with the B&W print on the back being on a paper slip which is pasted to the sleeve, overlapping and folded over on the three edges to the front. The front then has another piece of paper with the colour printed image of the In Person sleeve stuck over the top.

All four tracks can now be found on The Early Starday/King Years, 1958-1961 4xCD box set.

For a detailed breakdown and background to the Stanley's sessions, check Gary B. Reid's The Music Of The Stanley Brothers book, pages 94-95, 100-105, 111-114, 140-141, 142-144 and 150.
