This Japanese compilation is, I think, the first time the Stanley Brothers appeared on CD.
The collection contains material from their Mercury era, which nowadays is covered in full on the 2xCD The Complete Mercury Recordings.
The only non-Mercury cut is Little Maggie, which was recorded for Starday. Under the brief link-up between the two labels, it was issued on the Mercury 'Smash' subsidiary.
It's a shame the top of Carter's hat got cut off on the front cover!
